A connector is how Claude reaches your tools.
You add it once in Settings. From then on, a conversation in Claude can read from the tool and act in it, as you. SuiteMCP is the connector for SuiteCRM.
A Claude connector is a connection between Claude and a business tool, added in Claude’s settings, that lets Claude read from that tool and act in it during a conversation. Anthropic’s directory lists hundreds. A custom connector points Claude at any compatible service, which is how SuiteCRM gets one.
What changes once it is there
Claude stops answering from memory and starts answering from your records. Ask about the pipeline and it calls the CRM. Say a deal closed and it updates the record, after asking you. The view it shows is built from what came back, at that moment, for the person who asked.
Adding SuiteCRM
- Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. Paste the address we give you. It ends in your company code.
- Sign in to your CRM once. Your own SuiteCRM username and password, used once, never stored by us.
- Ask. “Show me my pipeline.” The dashboard is already building.

- What is a Claude connector?

- Who can add a custom connector?
- On Claude Free, Pro and Max, the user. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it for the organisation, and each person then signs in to the connected tool with their own login.
- Does a connector copy our data into Claude?
- No. Claude calls the connector when a conversation needs it and receives only what that call returns. SuiteMCP keeps no copy, sync or index of your CRM.
- Can a connector change things, not only read them?
- Yes, if its tools allow it. SuiteMCP separates read and write tools, marks destructive ones, and Claude asks before acting on them. The trial plan is read-only.
